The Hill Street Parking Deck, located at 123 W Hill St, Champaign, IL 61820, with entrances/exits on Hill and Randolph Streets, is the closest parking option for visitors.

General parking deck costs are:

• $0.75 per hour from 3 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday through Friday ($9.75 daytime maximum)
• No Charge all other times including ALL DAY on Saturdays, Sundays, and City Holidays 
• Credit and debit accepted 24/7 at the Exit gates (VISA, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express)

Additional Transportation/Parking Options

Downtown Champaign also has metered spaces and other parking lots. Maps and parking information can be found on the Downtown Visitor Parking webpage with the City of Champaign. There is also free parking on some side street in the neighborhoods near OLLI.

Taking an MTD Bus. Nearly all MTD routes have stops at or near the M2 building (where OLLI is located). Find routes and schedules via MTD Maps & Schedules.

• Note: OLLI annual members who live within 50 miles of campus can apply for a University of Illinois I-Card, which allows you to ride all MTD buses for free.

Parking Procedures for the Hill Street Parking Deck for Members

For all options, and if you have further questions, please contact the City of Champaign’s Parking Programs Office directly at 217-403-4700, or visit their office at 702 Edgebrook Drive, Champaign. They are open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, except City Holidays.

Handicapped Placards

If you have a handicapped placard and park in handicapped-designated spaces in the Hill Street Parking Deck, please contact the City of Champaign Parking Programs Office directly for additional information.

Prox Cards

Prox cards allow members to bill all parking charges directly to their credit card and make it easy to enter and exit the parking deck without having to take a ticket.

If you would like to set up a new account and receive a Prox Card (along with the OLLI member discount of 25% off the regular rates), there is a one-time set-up fee of $10. Please contact the City of Champaign Parking Office at 217-403-4700 to set up your new account and let them know you are an OLLI member.

To use the Prox Card: When entering the deck, hold your card in front of the sensor; this will raise the gate, and you will proceed into the parking deck. When leaving the deck, hold your card in front of the sensor; this will raise the gate so you can exit, and it will charge your credit card at the OLLI discounted rate for your parking.

If you have a Prox card and would like a lanyard that you can clip to your card to find it easily, please stop by the OLLI front desk during regular business hours and ask for one. 

Pre-Paid Parking Pass (issued on Prox Cards)

OLLI Members are able to purchase a pre-paid parking pass (issued on the prox card that you will scan at the entrance/exit of the parking deck). All purchases can be made through the Parking Office. All pre-paid prox card users pay the discounted OLLI rate for parking in the Hill Street Parking Deck.

To use the pre-paid prox card: Scan the card at the sensor; this will raise the gate, and you will proceed into the parking deck. When leaving the deck, scan your pre-paid prox card again; this will raise the gate so you can exit, and it will deduct that day’s parking charges from the amount that you have pre-paid.

Pay-As-You-Go

To take a ticket upon entering the parking deck and pay the full price when you leave (the pay-as-you-go option) – you will take a ticket upon entering the deck, and you will pay with your credit card after scanning your ticket at the gate on your way out.

• To expedite your exit, there is a Pay-on-Phone option to pay your ticket before leaving. There is a $0.35/transaction fee per use for mobile pay. Instructions for this are posted outside the Hill St. Parking Deck Level 2 entrance to the building.
• Please note that the pay-as-you-go option does NOT offer a discount for OLLI members; you will pay the full price.
