Wellness Program   

OLLI 's Wellness Program offers 60-minute sessions for members to continue practicing what they have learned in Wellness courses at OLLI or elsewhere. Members are expected to have some experience with yoga prior to participating in the Wellness Program.

Wellness Program sessions are taught by experts. They are not study groups. Four six-week sessions are offered each year, meeting during the same periods as our Study Group sessions.

Summer Wellness Program registration opens on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, at 9:00 a.m.

 

Those who have a 2025-26 Annual Membership will see a "Register" button by each Wellness Program section when logged into their OLLI account on or after the registration opening date and time. Click that "Register" button to register for a wellness program session. 

If you are an annual member in 2024-25 but have not yet renewed, you will still see a "Register" button up until July 1, 2025. However, if you are not yet a member yet for 2025-26, you will need to purchase a membership before attending summer wellness programs.

 

These courses will be taught by experts and are limited in size.

    Each of these 60-minute hatha classes will comprise a complete yoga practice intended to move all major joints, improve mobility, strength, and balance, and reinforce mindfulness in daily living activities. 

    Previous yoga experience is helpful but not required. Many poses will be familiar to students who have taken the OLLI course Yoga for Resilience as We Age. 

    Suggested props to experience the full benefits of the class include a yoga mat; 2 yoga blocks (9x6x4 inches is recommended; a few loaners are available); a blanket or thick towel; and a 10’ yoga strap (instructor has a few straps for sale at cost ($8) or to borrow).

    Each of these 60-minute hatha classes will comprise a complete yoga practice, moving all major joints. Sessions are designed to improve bone health by focusing on muscle strength, balance, and proprioception (spatial awareness).

    Previous yoga experience is helpful but not required. Many poses will be familiar to students who have taken the OLLI course Yoga for Bone Health, as this class is designed for those students to continue practicing poses and elements taught in that course.

    Suggested props to experience the full benefits of the class include a yoga mat; 2 yoga blocks (9x6x4 inches is recommended; a few loaners are available); a blanket or thick towel; and a 10’ yoga strap (instructor has a few straps for sale at cost ($8) or to borrow).
